The two men killed in what police are investigating as a murder-suicide in Menahga have been identified.

The Wadena County Sheriff's Department reports the bodies of 67-year-old Michael Callahan and 82-year-old Carl Albin were discovered when officers responded to a 911 call at an address on Oak Avenue NE at around 12:05 a.m. Monday. Both were dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was on scene Monday, collecting evidence for over five hours.

The bodies were transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office, where an autopsy was to be conducted.

The matter remains under investigation.
