The man who died following Thursday morning shooting in Minneapolis has been identified.

According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, 24-year-old Shuaib Osman, of Minneapolis, died as the result of a gunshot wound to the head.


The medical examiner determined the cause of death to be homicide.

The Minneapolis Police Department reported the incident occurred along the 2700 block of 16th Avenue South just before 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

Upon arrival, officers worked to help Osman until paramedics arrived. Osman was then taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died.

The incident remains under investigation.
