Authorities in Chaska said Monday that the Anoka County Medical Examiner has identified the two women found in a pond as Zeynab Osman Abdalla and Bushra Mohamed Abdi, two teens who were reported missing over the weekend.
The medical examiner's office also reported drowning as the official cause of death.
The search for the teens was focused on a retention pond near Engler Boulevard and State Highway 41 in Chaska. A car was found submerged in the pond earlier Sunday.
One body was found floating in the water and recovered, while the other body was found in the submerged car.
