Police in Mason City, Iowa, received a search warrant a year ago on an individual deemed a person of interest in the disappearance of Minnesota native and TV news anchor Jodi Huisentruit in June 1995.

Court records show police executed the search warrant looking for GPS information on a pair of cars connected to John Vansice, a friend of Huisentruit's and the last person to see her alive.

The warrant was sealed, meaning no other details are available.

"As you know, we continue to actively work Jodi's Huisentruit's missing persons case from June 27, 1995," Mason City police said in a statement.

"The search warrant you are referring to is part of our ongoing investigation. We do not have any public comment at this time about the content of the search warrant or the person(s) named in it. We would ask that anyone with information about Jodi's disappearance contact the Mason City Police Department.

"Lt. Rich Jensen is our Criminal Investigations Division supervisor and he can be reached at 641-421-3636."

Huisentruit, a Long Prairie native and St. Cloud State graduate, was an anchor at KIMT-TV in Mason City when she disappeared on June 27, 1995.

Police went to check on her around 7 a.m. that morning after she failed to show up for her morning anchor duties. They found personal possessions scattered around the parking lot by her car.

Vansice, who now lives in a different state, has denied having any involvement in Huisentruit's disappearance.
