The driver of a motorcycle who died in a fatal accident in Maple Grove Tuesday night has been identified. 

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner stated the driver is 28-year-old Rico Sookha Sisombath, from New Hope. They added his cause of death is due to multiple blunt force injuries sustained in the accident. 


Capt. Adam Lindquist with Maple Grove Police said the crash happened at about 8:15 p.m. near Bass Lake Road and Jewel Lane N.

According to Lindquist, an SUV was turning east onto Bass Lake Road from Jewel Lane when the motorcycle hit the SUV.

The motorcyclist was reported to have been traveling 90-100 mph before the crash.The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Neither the driver nor the passenger of the SUV were injured.
