Man receives non-life-threatening gunshot wound following armed confrontation with police in Minneapolis

A man received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound after an armed altercation with police in Minneapolis Tuesday night.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, At 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Minneapolis police arrived at a single-vehicle crash on the 2700 block of Bloomington Avenue S.

Officers made contact with a man in his 40s who was the driver of the vehicle.

The situation turned into an armed confrontation and shots were fired before the man fled on foot.

Officers later found the man hiding a short distance away and recovered a gun.

The man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

No officers were injured in this incident and the incident is under investigation.
