Man pulled from water near Boom Island

A man was pulled from the water off Boom Island in the Mississippi River Friday night.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office said a man was with his friends at the picnic pavilion when he heard a splash at about 6:30 p.m.


The sheriff's office said the man ran over to the water, pulled the man out and began CPR.

The man pulled from the water was eventually taken to a local hospital.

According to the sheriff's office, the department's water patrol arrived and started its investigation, which remains ongoing at this time.
