The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office confirms that a man was pulled from the Mississippi River near the Stone Arch Bridge Sunday evening.

The sheriff's office responded to a report of a person in the water at around 7:41 p.m. Sunday. The man had been pulled from the water by a nearby fisherman by the time responders arrived.

It is unclear where the man entered the water and why he was in the water, according to the sheriff's office. 

The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and he is expected to be OK.
