The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the 23-year-old man who was killed following a shooting Saturday evening in Minneapolis. 

The medical examiner identified the man as Ky'Reon Watkins. 


According to police, an off-duty officer was near the 2000 block of Aldrich Avenue North when the officer heard gunshots. While the officer was en route to investigate, a 911 call came in to report that someone was shot.

Watkins was transported to North Memorial Health Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
