Police said it all started when Davis drove into an officer's squad car at Thomas Avenue W. and North Griggs Street.
When the officer got out of his squad, Davis confronted him and the two got into a physical fight. That's when police said the officer fired his gun, hitting and killing Davis.
"I heard gunfire," one neighbor told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. "Police were doing CPR on him, then paramedics took over. It was death by cop, he wanted to die."
Investigators said they are reviewing body camera video, and the officer has been placed on standard administrative leave.
