Eagan police report a 40-year-old man died Monday night after he was involved in an apparent bicycle crash at Lebanon Hills Park.

A release said officers were dispatched to the scene, located at 4800 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, around 6:53 p.m. A caller advised authorities a man was on the bike path and was not breathing.


Officers arrived and located him. Emergency personnel began resuscitation efforts, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the release, officers spoke with the caller who reported the man had been involved in a minor crash and appeared uninjured, however, the man became unconscious a short time later.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy. A release said no foul play is suspected and preliminary evidence suggests the death is attributable to a serious medical event.

The man's identity has not yet been released.
