The Isanti County Sheriff's Office is warning anglers to hold off on ice fishing after a man fell through the ice Saturday near Cambridge.

Isanti County Sheriff's deputies and Cambridge Fire responded to a call of a man falling through the ice around 5 p.m. on Skogman Lake. A sergeant on the scene said the man was trying to ice fish. He was able to get himself out unharmed.


"Folks, it is not even close to safe to venture out on the ice," the sheriff's office said in a Tweet. "However, it is a pretty safe bet that you will go through any ice we currently have on area lakes."
