Man dies after shots fired in Minneapolis alley

A man died in a hospital following a Saturday night shooting in a Minneapolis alley.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to the 3600 block near Penn and Queen avenues on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers found the man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the alley.

Paramedics provided medical attention and then transported the man to North Memorial Health Hospital, where he later died.

The Hennepin County Medical Center has identified the deceased as Donzel Dwein Bell, 31, from Minneapolis. His cause of death was determined to be a homicide as he died of multiple gunshot wounds. 

The Minneapolis Crime Lab was at the scene collecting evidence while officers spoke with nearby residents.
