Man dies after shooting in Near North neighborhood in Minneapolis

A man died a day after a shooting in the Near North neighborhood, according to an update from the Minneapolis Police Department on Tuesday.

The department stated officers responded to multiple calls reporting shots fired along the 1700 block of Emerson Avenue North at about 11:55 p.m. Sunday.

Upon arrival, officers found a man believed to be in his 20s suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a nearby hospital.

Monday, the Minneapolis Police Department received an update that the man had died. The medical examiner’s office is expected to release the man’s identity and exact cause of death.

Police said no arrests have yet been made in connection with this case.
