A 64-year-old man died after being trapped inside a grain bin Friday morning.

The McLeod County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to an address on 140th Street in Rich Valley Township at about 11:22 a.m. on a report of a man trapped in a corn bin.


The Minnesota State Patrol, Glencoe Fire Department, Plato Fire Department, Allina Ambulance and Life Link Air Care all also responded to the scene. After about 30 minutes, the man was located and removed from the bin. However, he was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff's office said.

The investigation into the accident remains ongoing. The man isn't yet being identified pending notification of family members.
