Man dead, homicide investigation underway in North Minneapolis

Friday, police are investigating a homicide that left one man dead in North Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to the 2700 block of Irving Avenue N. at about 11:20 p.m. Thursday after receiving a 911 call.


Upon arrival, officers found a man inside a residence. The man, who authorities said appeared to have been shot, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's identity, as well as official cause of death, is expected to be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police said they do not have any information on a suspect or suspects. They added they believe it was a targeted incident and that there isn't a threat to the public.
