A man is dead after he was shot Saturday evening in south Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting around 6:49 p.m. on the 2700 block of Minnehaha Avenue. First responders found a man who had been shot and began life-saving measures.

The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center but was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigators say the shooting does not appear to be random and that the shooter and the victim most likely knew each other.
