A man died following an early-morning shooting in Minneapolis, according to police.

The Minneapolis Police Department reported the incident occurred along the 2700 block of 16th Avenue South just before 4:30 a.m.

Police said they received calls reporting shots fired in the area. Callers also said one person had been hurt.

Upon arrival, officers worked to help the man until paramedics arrived. The man was then taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died. Police said the victim's identity will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
