Man arrested in connection to assault of airport police officers

A man was arrested after authorities say he assaulted two airport police at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, according to an airport official. 

The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport police identified the man as 31-year-old Isse Dijale Ali.

Patrick Hogan, director of public affairs and marketing for the Metropolitan Airport Commission, said Ali attempted to go through security at the airport without a boarding pass. When he was approached by two airport police officers, Ali assaulted them, according to Hogan. 

Hogan said one officer was transported to an area hospital and was released. The other officer was treated at the scene. 

Ali is being held at the Hennepin County Jail.
