Delays were reported Wednesday afternoon at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport due to rapid snowfall.
Crews were able to reopen one runway in the midst of the snowstorm that diminished visibility at the airport. Earlier Wednesday morning, officials had temporarily closed the runways.

According to an airport spokesperson, departure delays were averaging about 45 minutes at noon. Inbound flight delays were averageing about 54 minutes, the spokesperson said.
Roth Knight was flying home from Arkansas Wednesday, but got rerouted to North Dakota first.
"We were told the airport was closed and we were being routed to Minot," he said.
After a couple of hours in Minot, his flight landed in the Twin Cities during a quick break in the snow. Had that window not opened, the flight would have been sent south to Iowa.
Jayne Kennelly was trying to get to North Dakota to see her grandson play in the high school hockey tournament there. But she was told her flight had been cancelled.
"It's stressful," she said. "It's hot. My backpack is heavy. I just want to get home."
A flight full of Frontier Airlines passengers were trying to get to Tampa in an effort to escape the very thing that made their 5.5 hour trek from Bemidji to the airport such a treacherous one.
"Travel was terrible," Kent Bahr said. "The snow was deep. There were many slippery spots with many pileups on the road."
"I thought we'd be sitting at the airport until tomorrow or the next day, but hopefully not," added fellow traveler Barb Eriksson-Capes.

Airport officials advised checking with individual airlines to determine flight status.
