The annual city of lakes Loppet Winter Festival begins on Jan. 31 and runs through Feb. 2.

The annual urban ski festival has a plethora of events this year including the 37K Classic and the less intensive 10K skate ski tour.

Along with skiing, festival-goers can check out the Luminary Loppet on Lake of the Isles. It's candlelit "magical winter event" that lets you ski, walk or snowshoe on the lake's groomed trails. While there enjoy a free hot chocolate on the lake and one complimentary Surly beer with valid ID.
