Work that will soon start on the Southwest Light Rail line is causing a Minneapolis bar to close its doors after more than 60 years.
Lee's Liquor Lounge says it'll shut down next month.
Craig Kruckelberg, the bar's owner, says he had an agreement with Minneapolis to use land across the street for a parking lot, but now Southwest Light Rail is taking over the parking lot.
More from KSTP:
"Our hands are tied," Kruckeberg said. "You are going to tear up the street that runs right in front of my bar, my music venue, then you take my parking lot away for my 250 customers... we can't justify being open."
Kruckelberg says he hopes to reopen once construction is done.
Kenilworth Trail in Minneapolis will also close next month, so crews will start taking down about 1,300 trees for this project. Crews will replace the trees once construction is done.
