Report: Lois Riess Extradited to Florida

A Minnesota woman whom authorities say killed two people has been extradited to Florida, according to KAAL-TV, a Hubbard-owned station.

KAAL reported Lois Riess was taken into custody by Florida authorities at 3 a.m. Thursday.

Riess is charged in Florida with second-degree murder, grand theft, grand theft of a motor vehicle and criminal use of personal identification information.  

According to the Lee County clerk of courts, a date has not been set for her first court appearance

Investigators say Riess killed 59-year-old Pamela Hutchinson in order to steal her identity and her car, which she used to flee to Texas.

Prosecutors in Dodge County are awaiting forensic evidence to be returned to the state before filing murder charges against Riess for the death of her husband David, according to Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose.

Riess was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service on April 19 in South Padre Island.
