Minnesota Moment: Local Child with Diabetes Has Message for Other Diagnosed

February 14, 2018 06:56 PM

An Eden Prairie boy who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes has a special message for kids like him who have been diagnosed with the disease.

KSTP met Louie Lambert when he was 6-year-old at the JDRF One Walk at the Mall of America.

Lambert no longer receives shots and is on an insulin pump.

He tries to pass on positivity to those also facing type 1 diabetes.

"I want people who were just diagnosed to know that I know that it can be pretty scary when you're first diagnosed and I also want to tell them that it's going to be just fine," he said.
