KSTPKindness: St. Paul 98-year-old receives unique birthday celebration

A St. Paul 98-year-old received a special birthday celebration. 

Dick McDonough, a WWII veteran, was born on April 9, 1922. 


Usually, his east side senior living community would throw him a party to celebrate his birthday. However, with the COVID-19 outbreak, they had to change their tactics. 

Instead, a group gathered on the sidewalk outside his balcony and sang "Happy Birthday" to him.
