Some Twin Cities kids are going through a lot more than a pandemic.

Wednesday, Hennepin County Sheriff's deputies dropped off pizza at St. Joseph's emergency shelter in Minneapolis where kids are escaping crisis, abuse or neglect.

"It's tough for everyone but I'm assuming especially for kids at a shelter they have other stories and other hardships they're dealing with, plus this virus," said Keith Kozekski, with Catholic Charities. "Our youth are often coming to us out of pretty tragic situations and it's great for the sheriff and his officers to be supporting our youth and giving them a positive message. People in this community really do care about them."
