October 02, 2018 09:03 AM

KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith was keeping an eye on a number of crashes in the Twin Cities metro Tuesday morning.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reports Highway 8 is closed at Greenway Avenue following a crash involving a semi trailer. The road is expected to be closed for around three hours. An accident investigation is underway.

Smith said traffic backups appeared to have been cleared up by 9 a.m. But the road remained closed.

MnDOT also reports a traffic incident on Highway 36 between Interstate 35W and Highway 51. Earlier, it reported a crash on Interstate 94 East in Minneapolis between Third Avenue and Highway 65.

Smith is watching crashes on Highway 169 South near Highway 610, as well as a crash on Interstate 694 East at Interstate 35W South.

Smith said to keep an eye out for a crash on Interstate 94 East past Highway 101 near Rogers.

Earlier, Smith reported a pair of crashes on Hiawatha in Minneapolis near Interstate 94. But those are since believed to have cleared.

Smith reported a right lane was blocked on Interstate 94 East in St. Paul around 6:30 a.m. following a crash near Ruth Street.

Smith also said a crash on Highway 61 North in Newport was backing traffic up into Cottage Grove.

Smith reports roads in the metro are a little damp.
