KSTP Traffic Roundup: Fog Slows Things Down in North Metro

August 07, 2018 10:25 AM

Fog in the north metro appeared to be slowing things down a bit Tuesday morning.

Other than that, though, KSTP Traffic Reporter Josie Smith reported largely smooth sailing on the morning commute.

Smith reported a crash in that area on Interstate 94 East, just prior to 610.

Earlier, she reported a blocking crash on Interstate 94 East inside the Lowry Hill Tunnel. But it was moved to outside the tube on the right shoulder.

Overnight work on Highway 62 near 28th Avenue was wrapped up and the right lane there has reopened.

Smith did say a couple of ramp closures went into place Monday on Hwy 62 in Edina. Two more will follow on Wednesday. The closures will last about a week to a week-and-a-half.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation was advising motorists that a stalled vehicle on Interstate 694 East was blocking a lane between East River Road and University Avenue.

MnDOT also advised motorists to watch out for a crash on Interstate 35W South at Ramsey County Road I in Mounds View.

In addition, MnDOT reported a crash on Interstate 494 West between Penn Avenue and Xerxes Overpass in Richfield.

Earlier, MnDOT reported a stalled vehicle was blocking a lane on I-694 between Interstate 35 East and Highway 61. To the west, MnDOT said another stall was blocking a lane on I-694 East between Long Lake Road and I-35 West.

Another tweet advised motorists to be aware of a crash on I-35 E South in Little Canada between Little Canada Road and Highway 36.

Earlier, via twitter, MnDOT reported a traffic incident on Highway 55 West between Highway 100 and Douglas Drive in Golden Valley.

In another tweet, MnDOT was advising motorists to beware of debris in the roadway in the southbound lanes on Interstate 35 West between Highway 280 and Industrial Boulevard.
