The host of the popular KQRS radio morning show, Tom Barnard, and the estate of his late attorney, Ron Rosenbaum, settled a lawsuit that was filed against Barnard in August 2017.

The lawsuit alleged Barnard stopped making payments to the Rosenbaum Trust in March 2017, despite having a contract requiring him to pay 5 percent of his KQRS salary through the end of 2019.

According to the suit, Rosenbaum represented Barnard in contract negotiations with KQRS in 2014.  Rosenbaum died on May 29, 2016, at the age of 68.

As a part of the settlement, the two parties agreed they will pay each other nothing.

The suit originally sought more than $50,000, the amount allegedly owed by Barnard to the Rosenbaum Trust.

Barnard's attorney, Christopher Madel, said Tuesday, "This case should have never been filed, and the results speak for itself."

Rosenbaum's wife Lucy Quinlivan issued a statement on the settlement Thursday:

“Ron worked harder for Tom Barnard than I ever saw him work for any other client, taking calls day and night, any day of the year, whether we were out with friends or out of the country," it read. "Ron liked Tom and respected his success in radio. But even our very good attorneys can’t get blood from a stone.

“We are confident that people have all of the information about these two very public personalities to judge which one they would trust.”

The lawsuit was officially settled Tuesday.
