Wayzata High School officials say school was canceled for the remainder of the day following a kiln fire in the art room Friday morning.
A release from the Plymouth Fire Department said crews responded to a report of the fire at around 10:39 a.m. Upon entering the school, firefighters encountered an active fire above the kiln that had extended into the roof of the building.
All students and staff were evacuated and firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control quickly.
Update: Buses are arriving at the school to pickup students today. Students can take the same bus home they normally would. As buses arrive, an announcement is being made across the school’s intercom system to let students know. pic.twitter.com/cpbtnv9oZl— Wayzata High School (@WayzataHS) May 25, 2018
