Kid missing for hours after riding school bus in Minneapolis

A Minneapolis mom was frantic when she arrived at her son's school Friday to pick him up and he was nowhere to be found. She said she had no idea where her child was for four hours.

"They are sworn to promise to protect and keep our kids out of harms ways and I feel like they failed my son," India Buyck said.

She said the problems began Tuesday, the first day of school, when he was nearly put on a school bus at Folwell School - Performing Arts Magnet. Then, she said on Wednesday, 6-year-old Julius was put on a bus that left the school, and she had to wait an hour to get him back. On Thursday, there weren't any problems, but on Friday, he was put on a school bus and wasn't seen for hours.

"I was just enraged, at a loss of words," she said.

Two hours later, she got a call from the school that he was dropped off at 14th and 31st. Another two hours passed and the police spotted the boy at 31st Street and Nicollet Avenue.

KSTP reached out to the district, which said they are looking into the situation.

Buyck said so far, the district hasn't reached out to her.
