After a full day of deliberations Wednesday, the jury in the trial of a 43-year-old St. Croix County (Wisconsin) man accused of fatally shooting his son remained deadlocked.
Kayle Fleischauer has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Deliberations adjourned Wednesday afternoon and jurors were expected to return at 8 a.m. Thursday.
Authorities say Fleischauer shot and killed his 19-year-old son, Chase, a college student and Tartan High School graduate, in April, 2018.

The defense claims Chase accidentally shot himself.
Prosecutors said Chase had bruises on his neck, arm, back of ear and a lengthy scratch on his neck after a "beating" from his father. The defense contended the two were just wrestling.

The jury has had the case for more than a day and asked at least five times to see more evidence before they broke around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.
One piece of evidence the jury asked to see was a document describing the fatal bullet’s trajectory.
