Investigation into infant death underway in Crow Wing County

UPDATE: The infant has been identified by the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office as 9-month-old Zander Miller, of Brainerd.

No cause of death has been released at this point.

The investigation remains active.

Original story from Nov. 12, 2019:

An investigation has begun into an infant death that occurred in Crow Wing Township Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call was received at about 2 p.m. reporting an unresponsive infant at a residence in Crow Wing Township.

When deputies and other emergency responders arrived, they immediately assisted in lifesaving measures.

The infant was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd where it was pronounced dead.

Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office investigators and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner are investigating the cause of the infant's death.

More information is expected to be released at a later date.
