An Inver Grove Heights couple had more than 35 notices from the Minnesota Department of Revenue before they were charged with tax crimes, according to the state, and they owe $55,000 in unpaid income tax.

Timothy David O'Brien and Sharon Murphy O'Brien are charged with a combined total of 16 counts of failing to file individual tax returns and failing to pay individual income taxes.
