Human remains likely found in Cass Lake

Human remains have likely been found in northern Minnesota.

According to a release from the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department, on Tuesday, authorities searched an area of rural Cass Lake as part of an investigation.


Investigators found what are believed to be human remains in a wooded area.

The remains were sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for identification.

Authorities said additional information will not be released until the remains are identified and family is notified.
