Human remains were discovered in Brooklyn Center over the weekend, according to police. 

Rick Gabler, a public information officer with the Brooklyn Center Police Department, said the remains were found Saturday.


Gabler said they were located near 60th Avenue and Vincent Avenue.

Human remains found in Minnesota in search for missing North Dakota man

Gabler said the medical examiner is still working on identifying the remains. However, he said a wallet was located near the body and the ID card matched the identity of a missing person out of Minneapolis. 

Gabler said Minneapolis police are investigating. 

He added that a cause of death is not known at this time.
