St. Paul Police are investigating an incident of a vehicle crashed into a cemetery, leaving one woman injured that occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

According to police, officers were called Jackson and Sycamore streets in St. Paul's north end neighborhood on a woman who was assaulted.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they located the injured woman and also a vehicle that had crashed into the fence of Oakland Cemetery nearby.

The woman was not shot but did sustain some non-life threatening injures and was transported to Regions Hospital.

A search of the area was conducted, and the male in question was located and arrested.

In an update Friday, police said this incident was also related to an earlier fatal shooting in St. Paul

The investigation is ongoing.

Editor's Note: Police previously stated the suspect was a 37-year-old adult male. In an update Friday, police said the man's age had been corrected to 28 years old.
