Authorities say one man was seriously injured after an explosion involving a furnace at a Cass County home.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office said first responders were called just before noon Wednesday afternoon on a report of an explosion at a home in Remer.

When deputies arrived, they learned a man had been working on a propane furnace when an explosion occurred.

The man was the only person inside of the home when the explosion happened.

The sheriff's office said he was airlifted to a hospital in the Twin Cities for burns and serious injuries.

The incident is under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office.
