A fire damaged a recycling center in St. Paul early Thursday.

The incident happened shortly after midnight at WestRock on Wabash Avenue.


Firefighters, who authorities said were at the scene for about three hours, battled flames engulfing the roof of the business.

According to the St. Paul Fire Department, one employee of the facility was evaluated for minor smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities are investigating how significant the damage is as well as how the fire started.
