Fire damages Pleasantview Elementary School; classes Monday canceled

There will be no school Monday at Pleasantview Elementary after a fire late Sunday night heavily damaged portable classrooms at the school in Sauk Rapids.

The fire broke out around 9 p.m. Sunday at the school.


According to the Sauk Rapids Rice School Twitter account, there would be no classes for Pleasantview Elementary School on Monday.

A release from Independent School District 47 said nobody was inside the classrooms or the school and no injuries were reported.

KSTP is working to learn what caused the fire and how much damage was done.
