The United States Attorney's Office in Minnesota has announced a former corrections officer has been sentenced to 14 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to engaging in a sexual relationship with a female inmate.

A release said Mark McShane, 37 of Owatonna, pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse of a ward in federal court in June. He was sentenced Thursday in St. Paul.
