The father of the man accused of kidnapping Jayme Closs and killing her parents has spoken out for the first time.
Patrick Patterson spoke to ABC News at his son's court hearing Wednesday.
Twenty-one-year-old Jake Patterson waived his right to a preliminary hearing during a court apperance Wednesday, which would determine whether probable cause exists.
"I most definitely want Jayme's family, everyone to know that our hearts are broken for their family," Patrick said.
Jake's next hearing is set for March 27.
