Father dies from injuries in Big Lake house fire, death toll at 3

A day after two children died in a house fire in Big Lake, the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday the father has also died.

Anthony Robert Parker, 36, was originally listed in critical condition, according to the release. He later died at Hennepin County Medical Center from injuries received in the fire.

According to the original release, Big Lake police and firefighters responded at 5:37 a.m. to a residence in the 19000 block of Karen Lane. Rescue personnel were able to get into the home and rescued five people, including four children.

All were taken to area hospitals. Two of the children taken to the hospital died, according to Sheriff Joel Brott. They were later identified as Landon Michael Parker, 2, and Spencer Rae Parker, 1.

Investigators believe the father intentionally set the fire. 

The State Fire Marshal's Office will issue a final determination on the cause of the fire.

A GoFundMe has been set up for Landon and Spencer's funeral.
