The Minneapolis Police Department responded to a report of a shooting Friday night in the Hawthorne neighborhood. 

According to Minneapolis Police, officers responded to the area of 30th Avenue N. and Colfax Avenue N. at about 5:20 p.m. Upon arrival, authorities located a male victim and provided first aid until paramedics arrived and transported him to a hospital.


At the hospital, the victim died from his injuries, police said.

The investigation into the shooting remains active.

The identity of the victim will be released at a later date.
