1 dead after a fatal crash in East Bethel

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on Highway 65 near Viking Boulevard in East Bethel.

 According to the sheriff's office, a 20-year-old man from Isanti, Minnesota identified as Reiley Patrick Hoopman was driving a Chrysler 300 sedan.


The preliminary investigation suggested that the man was driving northbound on Highway 65 and went off road then crashed into a traffic control light. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Northbound Highway 65 and Viking Boulevard will be shut down for an extended period while the crash is still under investigation. 

More information is expected to be released at a later time.
