A family is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the driver who killed a Maplewood man in a hit-and-run Saturday night.

Maplewood police said the victim died after being struck by a vehicle around 8:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of Lakewood Drive.

Gaocher Yang, the sister of the victim, told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS her brother, 26-year-old Choulykor Vue, died at the scene of the accident just moments after she had spoken to him.

"I had just seen him moments before I heard all the chaos on the street," Yang said. "I ran from my garage and tried to do CPR, but then I saw the head trauma."

Police said a second vehicle was seen stopping at the scene for a short time and then left before investigators and EMS arrived, and they are looking for help from the public.

Yang said her brother was just hitting his stride in his young adult life with a son and a job "he really loved" and was the type of person who always had a smile on his face.

"He was always in a good mood and willing to help other people, just very loving," said Yang. "I cannot believe someone left him to die and that’s why we are offering the reward so my mother and our family can have closure."
