June 20, 2019 08:10 AM

5 EYEWITNESS NEWS obtained dash camera video of a Minnesota State Patrol chase last December, which started in Faribault County, reached speeds in excess of 100-miles-an-hour, lasted 35 minutes and ended with two suspected drug dealers in custody.

On December 20, 2018, State Troopers Doug Rauenhorst and Jacob Ruppert stopped two suspected drug dealers in an SUV, headed eastbound on Interstate-90 near the Frost and Easton exit in Faribault County.

The dash camera video, obtained by KSTP, shows Rauenhorst enter the back of the suspect's vehicle to check for marijuana and Ruppert asks through the passenger door, the two men to step out of the vehicle.

At that moment, the driver of the SUV slams on the gas pedal and speeds off with Rauenhorst still in the back seat and Ruppert rushes back to his squad car and starts pursuing the suspect's vehicle on Interstate-90 in less than 15 seconds.

About 30-seconds into the chase, the dash camera in Ruppert's car picks up an image of Rauenhorst lying in the middle of the center median after somehow being tossed from the suspect's moving vehicle on the interstate.

The two men charged are Anthony Enriquez and Montrell Smith of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

They both face multiple felonies, including substantial bodily harm to an officer. Rauenhorst spent the night in the hospital, but was released the next day and is said to be doing well.

The Faribault County Attorney's Office and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety declined to comment because the case is scheduled to go to trial.
