End of an era: Iconic Red Wing Stoneware & Pottery selling final merchandise

Updated: December 02, 2019 06:09 AM

After nearly 150 years an iconic Red Wing business is coming to an end.

Last summer Red Wing Stoneware and Pottery announced it was closing.

The couple who owns the company says they're shutting it down because of health issues.

"Most people are sad that it's closing," owner Irene Johnson said. "Now it's time. We just have to move forward."

The couple is selling off the remaining merchandise giving people one last chance to buy the pottery.

The store on Old West Main Street in Red Wing will remain open through Christmas.
