UPDATE: As of 7:18 p.m., a spokesperson for the City of Edina says Jeffrey Carpenter has been located and is being transported to his home. She added it seems he is doing well, and a big thanks is credited to everyone who helped out.

The Edina Police Department is seeking the public's help in finding a missing person who was last seen in the Grandview area.

The City of Edina said in a release that 63-year-old Jeffrey Carpenter has dementia and walked away from his residence at approximately 10 a.m. Tuesday. He was reported to have been seen walking north on Tracy Avenue toward Vernon Avenue.

Officers learned Carpenter was possibly spotted in the area of Vernon Avenue at Eden Avenue "a couple of hours" before the search began, according to the release.

He is described as a white man, six-feet-tall and 180 pounds with white hair and glasses. Carpenter was last seen wearing a gray baseball shat, a blue and white long-sleeve shirt, Levi's blue jeans with a brown belt and tan hiking shoes.

Police say he is not dressed for the weather and does not have a cellphone.

Anyone with any information on Carpenter's whereabouts is asked to contact the Edina Police Department by calling 952-826-1600.
