Eden Prairie Warns of Residential Burglaries, Vehicle Tampering after 8 Incidents

The Eden Prairie Police Department has released a crime alert regarding several residential burglaries and vehicle tampering cases.

Police were called at 3:51 a.m. Tuesday to a home on the 17000 block of Evener Way. The homeowner reported hearing the garage door open and saw two people rummaging through a car, however, nothing was stolen. Police say the suspects accessed the garage by using a door opener in an unlocked vehicle.

The next burglary call came in at 6:45 a.m. on the 18000 block of Tristram Way. Suspects accessed a garage door opener from another unlocked vehicle and entered the home through an unlocked door.

They took a wallet, car keys and the vehicle in front of the home. Minneapolis police were able to recover the stolen vehicle Wednesday.

Police learned of six additional reports of auto tampering between midnight and 4 a.m. on Trillium Circle and Fairway Drive. 

Eden Prairie police say no items of value were stolen except a pair of prescription sunglasses.

The department continues to investigate and asks anyone with information to contact police. 

Police also remind residents to lock their homes, garages and cars.
